## Three things that are easy to mix up.

### Adoption is not compliance

After a delegated act is adopted, the Commission indicates a transition period of at least 18 months.

### Wine runs separately

Wine e-labels come from Regulation (EU) 2021/2117. They are not ESPR passports.

### Sunrise 2027 is a retail target

GS1's move to 2D barcodes at the till is an industry goal, not a regulatory deadline.

## Commission milestones, in order.

### The DPP infrastructure takes shape

The EU establishes the DPP Registry framework and adopts an implementing decision covering six DPP standards.

### EU DPP Registry becomes operational

The European Commission launches the Registry and a testing environment.

### Further standards expected

An implementing decision covering the remaining two DPP standards is planned.

### Iron and steel requirements planned

The Commission's indicative timeline envisages adoption of the ESPR delegated act for iron and steel, alongside an implementing act on battery access rights.

### Certain battery passports become mandatory

Battery passports become mandatory for the battery categories covered by the relevant requirements, including electric-vehicle batteries, light-means-of-transport batteries and specified industrial batteries.

### Construction products requirements planned

The Commission's indicative timeline envisages a delegated act for construction materials under the Construction Products Regulation. Adoption is not the same as the date when businesses must comply.

### DPP service providers planned

The Commission's indicative timeline includes further legislation relating to DPP service providers.

### Textile, aluminium and tyre requirements planned

The Commission plans to adopt ESPR delegated acts covering these product groups. Adoption is not the same as the date when businesses must comply.

### Additional product groups

Furniture requirements are planned for 2028, followed by mattresses and recycled-content requirements in 2029. Other product groups, including certain energy-related products, have separate indicative timelines.
